Florida Division of Historical Resources Announces
Miami Circle Planning Group Meeting

Tallahassee, FL -- The Miami Circle Planning Group will hold its first public forum from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Biscayne Sheraton, 495 Brickell Avenue, Miami. The public forum will allow public input on interim management plans for the Miami Circle/Brickell Point property. The public is invited to attend this meeting and is encouraged to submit written suggestions and comments.

The Miami Circle Planning group will hold its third meeting from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, 101 West Flagler Street, Miami. The Planning Group will meet to review proposed plans for management, protection, public access, and temporary interpretation of the site; and consider the potential place of the Miami Circle/Brickell Point property in the Miami River Greenway. The public is also welcome to attend this meeting.

The eighteen member Planning Group, named by Secretary of State Katherine Harris in February, 2001, is made up of community, ethnic, and government leaders. The first meeting of the Planning Group was held August 13, 2001, and a second meeting was held on November 30, 2001
