Feature
163 is located in the southeastern quadrant of the Miami Circle, near the southern
edge of the Circle’s arc. The field notes indicate that this feature was
probably originally comprised of two basins. Unfortunately installation of the
septic tank associated with one of the buildings of the Brickell Point Apartments
seriously damaged this feature. Limestone cobbles and midden were still present
in the surviving portion of the feature, and at least 5 smaller holes were noted
in the base of the feature. It appears that another basin was located to the
west of Feature 163, but this, too, seems to have been obliterated by the septic
tank trench.
