Just across the Brickell Avenue Bridge is the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Miami Convention Center (400 South East Second Avenue, Miami). The hotel and convention center were built in the early 1980s on the prehistoric and historic Granada site, which was an expansive Tequesta Indian village dating to the time of European Contact; the site later harbored nineteenth century Fort Dallas and the early precursors to the City of Miami.
