ATTENTION SPECIAL CATEGORY GRANT APPLICANTS!
Today, July 1, 2009, the Florida Historical Commission voted in favor of a second rollover of applications submitted in 2008 for the 2009 Special Category grants. This vote in favor of the rollover will cancel the previously scheduled 2011 Special Category cycle (July 1 – August 31, 2009), and new applications will not be accepted this year. Only updated 2008 rollover applications will be eligible for submission.
Small Matching Grant applications will be available online on October 1, 2009 with a deadline of December 15, 2009 for submission of applications.
The next Special Category grant cycle will begin July 1, 2010 with applications due by August 31, 2010.

*Applications for Historic Preservation Small Matching grants are reviewed and ranked in public meetings by ad-hoc Grant Review Panels appointed by the Secretary of State. Historic Preservation Special Category applications are reviewed and ranked by the Florida Historical Commission appointed by the Governor, President of the Senate and Speaker of the House. All grants are awarded by the Secretary of State, based on the recommendations of the Grant Review Panels or the Florida Historical Commission.
