Osceola, Seminole warrior, pictorial wall hanging, 1987
Made by Rita Denenberg in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. A retired artist and current teacher of quilting and needlework, the quilmaker got the idea for the quilt when she first heard of Osceola shortly after arriving in Florida. She designed the quilt after a portrait of Osceola by George Catlin as a tribute to her adoptive state.
