Folklife Education ProgramThe Folklife in Education Program provides numerous resources for educators and students. Workshops provide educators in schools, museums, historical societies, and other organizations with opportunities for integrating folklife into their curricula and educational programs. Professional development programs can be taken for Continuing Education Units with the coordination of school systems’ professional development offices.
Inreach
In-services and workshops offer educators the opportunity to learn innovative methods for integrating folklife into their curriculum while obtaining Continuing Education Units.
Folklife Days
Folklife Days brings local folklife demonstrations to thousands of schoolchildren through a host organization. During this event, folk artists demonstrate traditional crafts, occupations, and leisure activities, while we provide teachers with educational materials to incorporate the information into classroom learning.
