Big Bend Folklife DaysBig Bend Folklife Days is a program designed to help students understand and experience traditional activities that are part of the community life of people living in the Big Bend area of north Florida. Big Bend Folklife Days will provide demonstrations and performances of traditional practices that illustrate not only the Big Bend region's historical past, but also its multicultural present.
Big Bend Folklife Days is scheduled for Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21 at the Tallahassee Museum of History & Natural Science (NOTE: link opens new browser window). During
Big Bend Folklife Days, folk artists will demonstrate traditional crafts, occupations, and leisure activities associated with the surrounding region for thousands of schoolchildren and general visitors.
School groups are welcome. Students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the hands-on games, storytelling, and other traditional activities. Teachers and bus drivers accompanying classes are admitted free.
